FAQ
What is proprietary trading?
Proprietary trading is when a trader trades firm capital instead of their own funds. THT offers all capital, technology and training required. Profits generated by the trader will determine his or her compensation.
What do you trade?
We specialize in NASDAQ and NYSE stocks. Typically, we trade the most volatile stocks both long and short, holding positions as long as the momentum sustains.
Do I need to my own money to trade?
No. At Tower Hill we provide 100% capital. We do not accept any outside funds.
Do I receive a salary at Tower Hill?
No. Compensation is 100% performance based and not capped in any way. However, traders are eligible for a monthly draw against future profits.
What are the hours of operation?
Traders work during US market hours, typically arriving an hour before the open and staying a half hour after (7:30 – 3:30 CST).
What does a typical day at THT look like?
A typical day at THT can be quite varied. Traders arrive around 7:30am CST, eat breakfast and conduct some market research for the open at 8:30am CST. Traders usually have a quick lunch mid-day and the market closes at 3:00pm CST. The traders then finish up for the day, do some more research or spend time relaxing and interacting with colleagues; some just head home to spend time with their family and friends.
What is the culture of the trading area?
The trading floor is an informal, but intellectual environment of traders at all levels in their careers. Our open floor organizational structure allows for easy communication among our traders, both of senior and junior level.
